Option 1: Order Statuses to inform your client
It is your decision to bind/associate an Order Status to an Email template or not. If you do this, when you assign this status to an order, the associated email template is triggered and sends an email to the client. Also, the Order Status parameter at Order pages is updated accordingly.
To assign an email template to an Order Status:
- Select Order Statuses from the menu bar.
- Click on the Add Status button.
- Input the parameter values.
- Select the Add Email Automation checkbox and select an Email Template from the drawdown.
- Click Save.
Option 2: Order Statuses to inform your internal team
- Repeat the first 2 steps of Option 1.
- Leave the Add Email Automation checkbox, and Email Template dropdown unselected.
- Click Save.
Changing the status of a particular order
- Select Orders from the menu bar.
- Click on the particular order that needs a status update.
- Click on the current status in the upper right corner.
- Select a new status
- Click Save.
