Fine-tuning calculations and costs: Rule Management

Created by Cem Kocainan, Modified on Tue, 30 Jul at 12:09 PM by Cem Kocainan

All manufacturing operations are governed by "rules", which are calculation or validation algorithms. In Rule Management section, you can:

  • Activate or deactivate rules/operations to make them available or hidden for the end client.
  • Assign Cost Centers to rules/operations to define unit costs and margins.
  • Adjust rule variables, which are the values used by rule algorithms to calculate operation times (thus costs) or to validate the manufacturability of uploaded parts.

To activate/deactivate particular rules:

  1. Select Rule Management from the menu bar.
  2. Select the manufacturing operation from the dropdown menu.
  3. Toggle the Live switch on or off.

To assign a Cost Center to a manufacturing operation:

  1. Select Rule Management from the menu bar.
  2. Select the manufacturing operation from the dropdown menu.
  3. Click on the Edit Parameters button.
  4. Select the appropriate Cost Center.
  5. Click Save.

To adjust rule variables:

  1. Select Rule Management from the menu bar.
  2. Select the manufacturing operation from the dropdown menu.
  3. Click on the Edit Parameters button.
  4. Navigate to the relevant tab (Single Parameter, Dictionary or Dictionary List)
  5. Edit values.
    • You can also add/remove rows.
  6. Click Save.
